Usage Guidelines
The Medium logo consists of a symbol and a wordmark. The symbol and the wordmark can be used independently or locked up together.
The Tellie multicolor logo is our primary colorway, and it should only be used on Black or White backgrounds.
- The Black logo should be used on light colored backgrounds.
- The White logo should be used on dark colored backgrounds.
Logo Clearspace & Margins
When using the logo in a design or placing it next to other visual elements, you should ensure that it has plenty of room to breathe. This is where clearspace and margins come in to play.
The logo’s clearspace defines the distance between the logo and any graphic element it may be sitting next to in a composition. Use the cap height from the wordmark as a reference for the appropriate clearspace. Cap height = x
Restrictions
It’s important that the appearance of the logo remains consistent. The Tellie logo should not be altered or embellished in any way. It should only be used in the appropriate colors from the Tellie color palette. The following examples reflect only a handful of samples of what not to do.
- No stacking of the logo in any order apart from the original
- No stylistic effects or drop shadow to the logo
- No rotation or straying away from the line height of the logo
- No editing to the hue/saturation of the colors of the logo
- No scaling or skewing of the logo
- No usage of the wordmark on its own without the logomark
- No adding of strokes to the logo
- No replacement of the wordmark with a different typeface
Placements
Consider these important points when using the logo across a wide range of applications. Careful use and consideration are a requirement to maintain the integrity of the logo in any type of environment or experience. The logo shouldn’t be altered in any way and should always adhere to this usage guidance.
The logo should be carefully placed on photography. Always place the logo on clear and simple backgrounds with plenty of contrast for legibility. Avoid placing the logo on busy or complex backgrounds or images to keep it as legible as possible. Also avoid associating any colors outside of the Tellie color palette.
Brand Colors
Tellie Main Palette
Our primary brand colors are derived from our logo mark. Our secondary palette is a range of grays that are visible within our product, but can be used as backgrounds as well.
Tellie Color Combinations
These complementary combinations are mainly used in marketing assets. They are high contrasted in consideration of being safe for color-blindness.
Consider picking a combination that matches the closest tones of the image that it is paired with (if any).
Brand Usage
Our branding is centered around the bold usage of our complementing colors to emit the warm & friendly attributes of our nature.
