How to Limit Access to a Page with up to 10 POAPs

Understanding POAP

Short for 'Proof of Attendance Protocol,' POAP is the platform and infrastructure that enables the creation and storage of memories by POAP issuers and POAP collectors. This is a set of smart contracts which, for practical reasons, is currently governed by POAP inc.

POAPs, the collectibles, are NFTs minted under the Proof of Attendance Protocol smart contract. Each POAP is a digital record, held by collectors as digital proof that they attended, or participated in, a physical, virtual, or spiritual event; the POAP can double as a token qualifying its collector for potential future utility. 

 

Using POAP and Tellie Together

You can limit access to any page on Tellie using up to 10 POAPs

Add utility to any POAP drop by pairing it with a page exclusive to POAP holders. Your pages can include fully embedded checkout flows for tickets & merch, upload audio, share private videos, embed forms, share images, spreadsheets and more.

For anyone wishing to lock a page using a POAP, all you will need is the Event ID for a POAP. You do not have to be the issuer of the POAP. Instructions for finding the Event ID below.

Please note: In order for a community member to be able to unlock your token-gated page, their POAP will have to be in a crypto wallet. More information on POAP's website.

 

Create your POAP-protected page in 3 easy steps:

  1. Create your Tellie account
  2. Copy your POAP Event ID (see below for instructions)
  3. Use our drag-and-drop editor to create your page and then token gate it.  Instructions for setting up a token gate here, no technical experience required.

How to find a POAP Event ID

1. Visit: https://app.poap.xyz/admin/events

2. Search the Event:

Once the event is searched, you will see the POAP ID number. In this example it was 73001. 

 

After you've located the POAP ID number, you should be able to input that into Tellie where needed. Keep in mind that you do not need to enter the #, just the number.

Here is how to find POAPs that have been claimed: 

1. Visit: https://app.poap.xyz/

2. Connect your Wallet or input your address that was used manually.

3. Select the POAP Event:

4. Once the Event loads, you will see information regarding the event. You then will see what was claimed. Just like the example below:

Keep in mind that there is limits. These limits include: 

  1. When they are at 3 non-POAP NFTs (Max for token gate) 
  2. When they are at 3 non-POAP NFTs + 10 POAPS (Max for token gate) 
  3. When there are 10 POAPs and < 3 non-POAP NFTs (Max for token gate)
